Grab some coffee, relax and get to know Bojana!
1. HR & Payroll Specialist… What exactly is your role?
Being the HR & Payroll Specialist within Red Carpet IT Services I have responsibility to interact with clients and employees and be ready to address questions on a range of related topics. Interpersonal skills are valued since building trust and integrity with employees is crucial. Tasks are based on deadlines to ensure that wages are issued accurately and in a timely manner. I need to ensure that the process of applications for entry visas and residence permits for our employees and their family members runs smoothly. This role involves drafting employment contracts as well as carrying out all HR administration in accordance with the guidelines.
2. What is your background?
As most of you don’t know, I am from Serbia. My career started in Sales, which I was not keen on. Afterwards I was working at a bookkeeping agency and found myself in the Payroll Department. This role allows you that through legislation you can get to know many countries. Since I came to the Netherlands almost 3 years ago, I was faced with the fact that I needed to build my path and career from scratch. I took my knowledge and experience from Serbia and the first stop was within one of the most fast-growing companies in the Netherlands – Action. There I was working as an International Payroll Specialist, in charge for several European countries. I am so grateful for this experience, but it was time to make a step forward and be involved with Dutch payroll and legislation. So, here I am!
3. What activities give you the most energy?
Definitely the most challenging ones. You can either learn or run from it. With each obstacle you grow as an individual as well as a professional. Behind the scenes, there are a lot of brainstorming sessions, constructive feedback, teamwork, and compassion. In the end, at Red Carpet IT Services we tend to level up. This is my fuel.
4. Where do you see opportunities and challenges in this role?
Staying in the loop with employment law and regulatory changes. It would be nice if laws and regulations didn’t change. But they do. If you fail to notice regulatory changes and incorrectly calculate employee pay or tax liabilities as a result, you could face significant fines and penalties. You don’t want to lean the hard way 😊. From my opinion, if you love what are you doing for a living you will always see opportunities in front of you. Working almost a year for this company I have learned and accomplished so much. Only I can think about that better is yet to come. I have great team with me and a few role models, I must admit.
5. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to read books on human psychology and real stories. First of all, I enjoy reading them, but I also believe that they help me to broaden my horizons, learn a lot of new things and help my mind relax a bit. Passionate in a variety of sport activities and dieting. I would like to add travelling and spending quality time with friends and family as well, because at the end who are we without memories.
