Meet MS Endpoint Manager: Edo Laarhoven

By 15 November 2021 No Comments

At Red Carpet IT Services we think it is important that you get to know our team. This is why we created a new series of blogposts called ‘Meet the team on Monday’. In the coming weeks we’ll introduce you to one of our valued team members. This Monday we’ll introduce you to our Edo Laarhoven, MS Endpoint Manager. Next to being great at his job he is also doing great volunteer work at ‘De Kerstengel’, a foundation he runs together with his wife. Together they help families that otherwise can’t celebrate the holidays. We are happy to have such a caring person on our team!

Grab some coffee, relax and get to know Edo!

1. MS Endpoint Manager… What exactly is your role?

I am working as an MS Endpoint Manager. In my current role I ensure that software is distributed to machines and profiles are registered. Currently I am busy with all software relating issues within End User Computing.

2. What is your background?

Over 36 year experience in many IT areas in the Netherlands, UK and Ireland. Mainly operational support; whether it be direct hands-on or web portal customising. The last 20 year working through different companies at the European Patent Office in The Hague.

3. What activities give you the most energy?

Building interfaces to ease the work environment; it still surprises me how much manual time-consuming labour is done in the 21st century.

4. Where do you see opportunities and challenges in this role?

My current role at one of Red Carpet IT’s clients is to set-up, with a team, a MS Playstore for the them. Setting up profiles that enables people, after logging on to the VPN, to select software themselves whether this is Phone, iPad or Laptop / machine.

5. What do you like to do in your spare time?

One of the best projects I am allowed to work on is “de Kerstengel” which enables people with very low income, illness or other mega problems to have a one-off fantastic Christmas. Many families have problems buying proper food let alone presents etc. This project is now running more than 10 years arranging for more than 200 families a top time, even if only for a little while.  If you are interested please check our website. We can always use more support.
